I made some fried plum pork with rice today.
It's an easy dish.
>frying pan>oil>heat>add room temperature sliced/cubed pork in a pan>fry until brown>add crushed plum mash> - dried natural plums soaked in water and mashed> - sugared plum jam from a commercial packageBoth are good, however all of this "comparing" may need a few experiments.
As a rule of thumb, for a 500 grams (half a kilo) of pork cubes I add three tablespoons of industrial "sugared" plum jam.
This is really the base of the dish:
>quickly fried cubed pork in the pan>add plum jam on the pork in the pan>mix>add spices and salt>add two tablespoons of water in the hot pan>add a half pint of cream if you are undecided person :DDDFull grain rice, oven baked mashed potatoes or full grain steamed barley with thin steamed slices of carrot and turnip.
Go fully medieval with this dish. The effect of plum with pork was known by the Romans already back in their day. The Chinese will offer you the pork with plum with spices as a sweet and sour dish today. Yes, that's the taste of plum. :)
