It would be nonsensical to say that Jesus recruited amongst the Pharisaic sects, because they were the very people trying to kill him
He instead gathered his apostles from those in Judea who followed the Mosaic law (unlike Jews today)
TL;DR: Judaeans =/= modern Jews, different laws, different beliefs, only shared aspect is geography
