>>9228317this isn't anglos, this is evangelicals. people who have a very, very twisted idea of christianity. they are people who take the "judeo-christian" idea as the fundamental basis of their belief
every meme you see ironically posted on /pol/ saying "G-d's chosen people" and the like are things i have seen these people say entirely seriously
>>9228326because:
a) they believe israel is the land of the chosen people and they aren't jewish, so they can't leave to support their beloved land,
b) they are old boomers and acknowledge they'd rather live in the comfort of the rich U.S. than the middle east, and worst of all,
c) they believe their purpose is to make sure the U.S. remains in staunch support of israel in every way, shape and form, and they can't do that if they aren't here to vote and support local causes to that end
that last one, btw, is why it is entirely necessary any right-wing politician right now puts on the facade of being good for israel, and why token actions like "recognizing jerusalem as the capital" and "kissing the wall" are important: no matter how much you dislike the action, the evangelicals are a very widespread, very influential and VERY willful voting bloc, and it is important to trick them into supporting the right leadership if they can't be outright persuaded of the right ideas
