If you do a status check and nothing is actively wrong and you've done all you can/you've done all you are willing to do when it comes to negative things in the past or future, then you are making a choice to be upset. If nothing is actively wrong then choose to be happy while you can be happy with nothing actively wrong. Dwelling on negative thoughts is a huge waste of time and energy and ultimately it gives you nothing. What good can come of it? Especially if you've already done all you can/all you are willing to do about whatever it is that is bugging you. If you haven't, then go do things to make it better. If you aren't willing to do things to make it better, then you are choosing inaction. In which case, enjoy the inaction.
No one can make a good case to me about why dwelling on negative thoughts is a productive or good thing.
