I'm 25 and I've tried every drug under the sun but thanks for the advise anyway fren. Come to think of it, it did remind me of a similar (albeit less drawn out and elaborate) experience I had on LSD where I saw a repeating pattern of these weird creatures starting small, growing bigger and then deteriorating and falling apart. In that moment my understanding of evolution and my belief in a deterministic universe merged into one seamless theory of how life works. It was pretty neat.

Officially diagnosed with """mild""" anxiety and some form of depression I forget the technical term. Anyway both my diagnoses are wrong I think. As far as anxiety is concerned I would say it is mild most of the time but in specific circumstances it's at least moderate. I just avoid those circumstances. Weeeell it is probably in my genes cause both schizophrenia and autism run through mums side of the family. It's entirely possible I don't have autism though and if I do it's only mild. I don't have any difficulty reading social situations. The only reason I suspect I might have it is cause both my sister and my housemate seem convinced I unironically do. I think they may be misinterpreting schizoid symptoms for autism but ehhhh I haven't been tested for either.

You are wrong if you believe these things come strictly down to nurture. Nurture plays a role of course but mental illnesses of all sorts are highly heritable. Also at their extreme ends, they can be crippling. A person with severe autism will need constant assistance to get through life and will regularly freak out whenever anything doesn't go how it usually does. Jordan Peterson put it well so I'll paraphrase him - if you move a chair in a room, to you it's the same room with a moved chair. To a person with severe autism, it's a completely different room, and they find that extremely grating.

Have you ever actually experienced any sort of moderate to severe mental illness yourself?
