What a waste of a thread. In addition to pushing the narrative away from American degeneracy by blaming Japan for a disjoint cultural force, it is evident based on many of the posts in this thread that the original intended purpose of 4chan, which was to talk about anime and anime-related things, has been lost in a big swirling mess.
There is an anime for everything. Anime carries with its messages an appreciation for the outsider, but this is not limited to any one sect of society. During this past Fall season, one particular anime was about a bunch of girls forming a club where they shoot air rifles, because why not? It is illogical to think that, because the anime style is prone to showcasing crossdressing men, the entire medium is at fault.
Japan is very self-aware of its degeneracy, but as

>>9312109, perspective is what's important when making such a claim as "Anime = Tranny." My personal favorite anime is Yu Yu Hakusho, and while there are some out there that believe the shonen genre is not really as ' anime' as something like K-On! or Lucky Star, it's still part of the same thing.
What if you made this argument to the Hispanic kid next door who only watches the Dragon Ball Z dub? What about the autistic kid in elementary school who reads Fire Emblem fan fiction because he like cataloging all the characters? Is there anything wrong with liking Sailor Moon if you find it to be just, well, visually appealing?
