and there's heat settings, I never turn mine all the way up plus it's not like a space heater it's those coil things that heat up and there's a grate around it so as long as you don't leave it on 24/7 I doubt it will catch anything on fire
yeah you could probably diy it I'm sure there's tutorials and stuff out there
