The main issue today is the internet is to ‘normal’ it’s everywhere you go, back then you had to get your laptop out/go to computer and it was exciting that you were ‘going on the internet’.
I think it was still good up until around 2012, online gaming was good and most of the stuff I enjoyed about the internet as a kid still existed. Having iPhones didn’t really affect it cos it was still a bit shit due to small screen etc, so you still went to your laptop/pc.
So yeah, I think 2012 was peak as it was a good compromise between both worlds.
