Cuddles are meant to lead to sex, cuddles after sex are a part of sexual afterglow. Or whatever the fuck that intimate experience between two lovers is called. Now THOSE cuddles are meant to make you go to sleep.
I'd go even as far as to call cuddles a sex appetizer. If you had sex already they don't increase your lust, they just feel soothing and good. Just like food appetizers don't grow your appetite if you're full, they just taste good.
