and if you're going to do that, you should consume as much as possible and learn as much as possible so as to become an expert.
but then, what if becoming an expert in [thing] isn't in your life plans and you have other things to concern yourself with? and surely it's not a good idea to consume as much as possible unless you want to devote your life to it.
and if creation > consumption anyway you need to be creating a lot of the time to make up for how much you've consumed (and again you must consume if you want to create anything good).
