Here in brazil we have welfare for extremely poor people and I think it has definitely increase birth rates. Don't know if there is data on that though

You do realize that work is what keeps society going, right? If everyone thought like you and quit their jobs, how would we get electricity? How would we get food? Who would build the roads? Still, for me (college graduate, middle class) the acceptable work options seem to consist of office jobs, and I'm not sure they are all that useful with their high levels of abstraction.
