You have to connect A to C and D, and also B to C and D. If the lines are not allowed to intersect, this always creates a closed shape. Now, if one of the other elements ends up inside this closed shape, you're fucked, because now you can't connect to it without passing through its outline. [pic related] illustrates the only way to do it. Messing with any of the connections puts another element inside the shape, dooming you to failure. Now you have to connect B to E somehow, and it's obvious that you can't do better than a direct connection because it doesn't block anything. Now connect E to A without passing through any lines or locking one of the elements inside a closed shape. You can't do it. Stop trying.
