I believe in the theory that humans are inherently egalitarian, but we can only keep track of 50 in person relationships (on average) at a time, so we must create generalities of groups of people in order to function in complex societies.
When the egalitarian style of humanity is compromised (as it was due to the agriculture revolution) then competing classes are created (between those that own the land/harvest and those who do not).
People follow actions/examples. So, if you have one class of people treated lesser than others, for no meaningful reason, than you follow that example. Add complex a value matrix and flawed sense of accomplishment and material-social barriers to it...then you do a racism.
