German wanted to become an imperial power over Europe, and basically gain the loyalty/fiefdom of a ton of countries everywhere
When it came to yugo, what they did is they used the division to prop up one group into a class that oppressed the other, in an unnatural balance maintained by Germany
This means that group a(Croats) are enjoying more power, and even if they don’t agree on the oppression of group b, most don’t want to change the status quo because they enjoy the added wealth and b they don’t want revenge from group b
So thus Germany created a situation where they have complete control over both group a and group b, because if group a doesn’t do what Germany wants, Germany can just leave them to fend for themselves, and if that happens group a and b will enter in a civil war, and a doesn’t want that at all, and they also control group b because it’s oppressed by group a
Pretty dirty colonial politics, again, wouldn’t dot hat sort of stuff to europeans
