>>9457418>you want to talk about IRON CLAD, SCRIPTURE BASED arguments that would just blow them the fuck out, then look no further.that doesn't work with evangelicals. believe me
the pure definition of evangelical dogma is hard to put down (since it's protestant and more fluid than catholicism) but sola scriptura is one of them, so someone's reasoning outside of direct biblical quoting is completely invalid. if you ever watched or read evangelical preachings most of it is dissecting semantics of greek or hebrew or aramaic in the original text and acting like there's some deeper meaning involved behind etymological nuance. i literally saw one once have an entire sermon on the definition of fire
another thing is they believe in the infallibility and immutable nature of God, and what i mean by that is they do not believe in nullification or fulfillment of the old law - this means they believe everything in the old testament still applies, and jews are still God's people, abraham's covenant still applies. so it does not matter how rational, how scriptural any critique of jews or israel gets, they will reject it by adherence to that doctrine. Jesus could have literally stated "I command you to hate jews" and they would still say "okay but what about the old testament and the prophets saying that nation of israel is blessed by God? see you're contradicting the Bible"
there are some things people believe in that you cannot reason them out of, because it is at the very core of everything they stand for. that's not even getting into dispensationalism which tells them that they will get the second coming and salvation as long as they prop up israel. from there they're theologically immune: bringing up martin luther or any number of religious arguments contrary to their belief won't stand a chance against their zealotry in trying to bring about the end times, because it promises them everything they could ever want
