I just think this movie tried to do too much without tying any of it together, the pacing was god awful, and just a lot of it, no analysis really involved, just struck me as "This is incredibly stupid/lame"
Like, how bad does a an anime need to be for me to dislike it?
Like, there is "bland unambitious stuff" which is like 4/10 territory.
But then there is "ambitious shit that was horribly executed" You could tell that this all was very ambitious. The animation was good, visually it was good. but the plot, the direction, the themes, the "whole package" was fucking just a bunch of technical skill stuff tightly into a bag.
Just ....that's why it was entertaining to watch the train wreck because everyone involved in this movie was talented, it's like having the best musicians, actors, set designers, costume designers and wanting to put on a play/opera.
And everything looks and sounds good
but the narrative and dialogue and characters are fucking just BAD
