i was told to stop getting stuff for other people and go back to my own register whenever we get busy. i don't necessarily think it was worth calling out or even "correct" for me to do things the way they said i should, but i can see how they'd come to that conclusion and they were nice enough about it.
what bothered me is it was an unbelievably hypocritical call out. i'm not sure i saw this supervisor do anything useful the entire shift let alone get onto their own register.
they're so useless that less than 10 minutes after them telling me to get on my register a customer needed a refund. i don't have the authorization to put those in the system and it was completely impossible to find her to do her actual job and put it in for me
all in all i don't care if someone wants me to work harder and i don't care if she wants to sit on her hands all day, but it's extremely aggravating to be told that i'm not doing my job int he (alleged) most strictly efficient way possible by someone who actively hides from anyone who might be able to ask her to do her job at all.
