Does anyone here used a pulsated light hair removal machine? Does it work? How many sessions you did?
I will spend big bucks on a machine before summer and I don’t know if it’s better to pay a clinic to do that with laser removal (around $430 about 20 sessions)

IPL is a bit of a meme, depending on the area I wouldn't recommend it, sessions can take like 3 hours sometimes, vs. 20 minutes for laser.
Also IPL is not as long lasting as laser. I would recommend using epilator instead if you don't want the removal to last for years or decades like it will with laser.
Laser is always going to be better, but also a lot more expensive usually.
Go to a clinic to have it done, if you can actually afford a laser machine (which I doubt, they're huge) the laser can damage and scar your skin if you don't know what you're doing.

It works best on terminal hair (hair that is thick and dark), but works on less developed hair as well; so the effectiveness is based on how annoying the hair is pretty much lol.
Frequent epilation can kind of contort the hair follicles making it harder for the laser to be effective on them. I'd recommend only shaving and not waxing or epilating the area from now until you have the laser done, it will make it more effective.

You usually have 1 treatment every 4 weeks because that is the start of the next hair growth cycle.
20 sessions should definitely be enough for "permanent" results.
I say "permanent" because it's technically not guaranteed to be permanent (the only method guaranteed to be permanent as of now is electrolysis), but it is very likely that the hair will never come back, and if it does it will probably take 10 or more years.
It depends on the various things, though, like hormone balance, the stage of development of the hair (vellus or terminal), and how undamaged the hair follicles are.
I doubt you would be but don't take any steroids while having the treatment.
