yeah, a couple. riders, heroes, adventure, adventure 2, and shadow the hedgehog to be exact. i even go back and play adventure 2 every once in a while. 3d sonic is notoriously janky but really does scratch a certain kind of autism for going fast really well. in all those games and the clips i've seen of the two animated series here and there sonic's always been a cocksure but very friendly if a bit dim guy. in the movie he was boiled down to just a child with extreme adhd
not that i noticed. there was a coworker that also saw it and i talked to him about the movie afterwards but we had a lot more comments to make before getting to his macguffin magic since it honestly took a pretty passive role for most of the movie and wasn't really addressed directly for more than one scene
yeah, he's no mario. they still make games here and there but they've been mostly shit for around 10 years now. to a lesser degree mostly shit before that too. not to sound like some nostalgic boomer but i truly did grow up in the golden age of sonic where i got the handful of games that were halfway decent and came out at the same time. any kids who play sonic games nowadays only do so because their parents or older siblings grew up with sonic. it's not to say they should make some hardcore mature sonic film or something just that it's the type of thing that should be kid friendly yet targeted at the people who are nostalgic for it.
