Same bro. In my case it caused by poor executive functioning caused by high functioning depression. If you can, you should really see a profesional. Taking anti depressants has really helped me focus and retain information.

i was planning on going to electrical but i think im gonna switch majors and go CS
also youre doing two very hard majors at once thats pretty fucking impressive

I would still see a profesional. I did not think I was depressed for the longest time because of normies memeing depression into just being sad, but that is not what depression is. I did not think of myself as overly sad because I did not know what emotions were like for most people. I thought I slept for 14 hours a day, had trouble remembering things, and struggled to hold a job because I was lazy and stupid. Turns out I just needed help. Do see a doctor instead of self diagnosing though.

thats funny because i swapped from cs to engg. cs is alot more maths/algoritm focused, if youve ever done any discrete maths then thats cs but its gets worse.

that being said the shit ive seen in cs/proved is insane, its like black magic and working on proofs is definitely more fun (eh mroe or less) than working with traditional math axioms/ continous maths. topology and enumeration were wack.

Fair point. Humans are a naturally lazy bunch, and often we look for excuses. I would still recommend seeing someone though. I tried self help for many years, and it did help, but antidepressants were a complete game changer for me. Not saying you are depressed OP, or that you should give up self improvement, just that it might be wise to see a doctor.
