crash bandicoot 4 cortex returns again new crash game made by naughty dog takes place after 3 and in the story cortex is back from vacation and he decides he needs the crystals again only this time he uses dimensional travel instead of time travel to get the crystals and it works and since he has all the crystals the world turns into ruin and it's an open world dystopian game where you jump through dimensions trying to bring the crystals back and cortex's minions are all over the earth trying to hunt you down but you have more combat maneuvers to fight them not just spinning but also punching and kicking and biting and later in the game you get weapons like the bazooka in crash 3 only more varied and in each dimension there is a boss and the boss fights are optional but beating each boss gives you a special ability that will help make the game easier and later in the story cocoa gets kidnapped and you have to ride on the polar bear to rescue her and the brother/sister relationship is actually really well thought out and crash's girlfriend comes back as a companion with her own special abilities and you get to pilot the blimp they flew away on in crash 1 and at the same time n brio wants the gems and you can choose to be good by taking the crystals from cortex or morally ambiguous by giving the gems to n brio so he could rule the world but it's not evil because the world would still be better than under cortex and it would be like the house option in fallout new vegas and to get the gems you don't break boxes but complete special side-quests that are more intricate than the crystal ones but every gem increases your "power bar" allowing you to become more powerful and in the final boss battle between crash and cortex cortex pulls out his blaster from crash 1 and you sacrifice yourself to defeat him except in the n brio ending where you sacrifice cocoa instead but even after the game is over there's still quests left and the multiplayer which is like crash team racing
