I see how you could come to that conclusion. I do have personal goals but when I think about the "big questions" I'm just completely nihilistic. Even if the human race doesn't die out from self-destruction we'll evolve until we're not even human anymore. Earth is just one planet out of billions of billions. We don't matter. Most of the scientific theories about the fate of the universe are completely hopeless.
I try not to think about that too much, it just depresses me.
