If Kokoro had canonly a dynamic cosplay outfit changing with the soul of any mask she wears like an artificial fox tail made of cloths sewn at the back of the dress and a hair bow which looks like a pair of fox ears on top of the head when she wears the possessed Kitsune mask, she could have been a much better design in relation with stage plays.
I like how the Komeiji Sisters can have inverted color schemes and they change their persona with it to the respective other sister.
Also their inspiration was based upon the painting The Two Fridas.
Both have a characters and personality which fills in the place the other one is missing.
Yukari YAKUMO and Maribel HEARN are cool characters firstly because their surnames are referencing to the Greek writer Lafcadio Hearn who married as one of the first Europeans a Japanese woman on Japanese mainland.
He changed his name to Koizumi Yakumo afterwards to get esteem from Japanese people as one of them.
He became most famous for his first translations of specific fairly tales and Youkai stories from Japanese to English/Greek, he can be seen as the grandfather of Japanese myth and legends for some degree outside of Japan. Yukari keeps in 2hou the last Youkai together in Gensokyo and Maribel is investigating their mysteries in the future.
Like the real Hearn came to Japan to investigate for his books and the later Yakumo protected the country and its history.
Maribel is rumored and it's pretty obvious to see the same character as Yukari, but just a younger version and doesn't have time and space bending powers so powerful as her. The true mystery is still staying in the room, how did Maribel turn into Yukari, if not a self-explainable time loop paradox was the cause.
Also, I can't really tell it, but Suika has more of the T O U H O U V I B E than Reimu or the other main characters of series have.
