>>9648648Because the Imperium and space marines hold with the old ideal notions of heroic masculinity derived from medieval knight tales but then blends it into a modern setting.
The shit like the space marines have to deal with, the horrors of chaos and the idea of corruption seeping into the heart echoes with our own sentiments of what is wrong with society.
We basically live on a world corrupted by the powers of chaos and 99% of the population is too stupid to see it. The only real option is adopting stoic attitudes of the imperium and praying god/the emperor will protect us from the madness of chaos by living as faithful servants.
To us the Imperium represents a strong masculine ideal that is the solution to the feminine chaos that has become our reality. For many it is an escape, for others its a blueprint on how to behave with a traditional mindset in a world gone to shit and technology combined with feminine leftism is to blame.
Star wars became tainted by disney. Star wars in general comes across as nice and quaint but it is too idealistic and naive. The idea that hatred only begets hatred or you should adopt a passive stance and let your enemies kill themselves is false because they arent that stupid. You have to hate your enemies and you have to kill them by any means with no mercy.
The rewards for tolerance are treachery and betrayal
Basically the imperiums answer to everything is correct. They do not allow degeneracy to slip in because their society is very carefully managed and operates by a rigid structure that is effective. Their response to degeneracy is not preaching tolerance or mincing words but in fact going out and burning all the heretics or even destroying their world if the suffering of the populace is too great.
My point of view is that since WWII we have reached a point where Exterminatus is the only viable outcome and there is no recovery from the madness.
