I have three pet birds and no Teflon is allowed in my house. That shit even makes my lungs and throat feel weird. My air purifier also picks up on the toxic fumes whenever I cooked with Teflon or other coated cook wear. Going stainless steel and cast iron has been a great investment.

Teflon is fine, its stable up to 350 degrees celcius, unless you are putting it in a restaurant kitchen oven nothing is going to happen.

All it took was 180celcius to make my shitty nonstick oven tray to emit toxic fumes that made me gag and was picked up by my air purifier which alerted me of the fumes. My other oven trays with no non stick coating did not have that problem.

Stainless is generally enough, a simple setup is a large skillet, a large cooking pot, and smaller pots, it's all very versatile and affordable. Season the skillet and use it until it becomes completely nonstick, scrub thoroughly the rest because there's no reason to season a pot, and you'll be fine.

If you have more money, go for carbon steel pans, cast iron skillets, and a large dutch oven.

But yeah, Teflon is not good for you if you scratch it and/or make it too hot.

Mods are confirmed faggots. Also I haven't seen teflon pans being sold in stores in quite a while now, especially not in the large retail and supply stores like Kroger, Target, Walmart, etc... Guess having a warning label that says it will kill your birds and fuck up your lungs will do that to a product kek. Anyone else seen any being sold?
