Jesus is God, He is the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity. He has the same essence as God the Father. God himself who made the sacrifice. In the sacrifice of the Cross he takes away the sinner's guilt and takes it upon himself, and administers the merits of His Sacrifice on the sinner.
