Orthodoxy is some of the gayest shit out there desu. Take it from me, I was one. The surge of interest in the west is based on it being mystical, so people looking for answers can kinda of just substitute in whatever makes them feel good. Also based on a literal smoke and mirrors show. Oooh pretty bells, ooooh smelly smoke.
Even that though isn't enough to overcome most of the people born into it from leaving. In the west, it is a dying sect. Recent census numbers confirm this.
It is an ethnic mafia at the higher levels. They condemn white nationalism and will kick you out for advocating for your people, yet cling together for their own ethnicities like nothing else. Nationalism for me, not for thee.
Also, this sick bullshit is acceptable. It is a "relic", aka a piece of a dead saint. It isn't supposed to decompose because it is holy, so people freak out and start crying when they get the chance to look at a fucking dead foot, and potentially brush their teeth with the dead foot water.
