Why do you say so?
I have one of these with 2.5 liter M54 I6 and it's definitely not fragile. I have done about 90000 kilometers with it since I bought it.

Timing chain, not timing belt (dual VANOS).

Change engine oil, change manual gearbox oil, change diff grease.
Change spark plugs, change oil filters, gas filters and air filters.
Check brake pipes, check brake pads. Check rear suspension dog bones.

800 euros in total. Haha.

Electronics in it are fucking great, zero failures.

Haha, titties are a no go. Low power, no factory support for the model. There genuinely is zero undercarriage for racing at all.
Honestly, TT was just a pretty boulevard car for hairdressers.

Mitsubishi Lancer, Ford Focus, VW Golf GTI, Porsche Carrera 4, etc etc.
You are not short of real choices for rallying.
100k competition budget (not including the car) and you might learn something crucial about rally driving and yourself.
