No, it certainly is not. From my experience, if you graduate with a degree in computer science or some sort of computer engineering, finding a job that pays at least $70k/year is not hard at all. If you graduate from a top-tier university and/or have high quality internships you can start with at least $100k/year. In addition you may get bonuses, stock, and good fringe benefits.
