>>9908629The first game was terrible with that and felt like it was made with some slightly more sophisticated RPG Maker, auto-generation program, but the series got better. If you want to apply it to later games as well you might as well apply the same standard to every kind of videogame, most games have even less sophisticated gameplay loops.
If anything the series kind of died with the inclusion of Dark Souls/RPG style gameplay with the egypt/greek games, when they began assigning levels to individual guards like they are fucking Pokemon and the side-effect of that being mainly that you can't assassinate/insta-kill people even with your hidden blade just because they are assigned a bigger number than yours.
>>9908633Gamergate happened then. I talked constantly about it in 2016 but without this anti-consumerist turn in nearly all media around that time most people would have just stayed mesmerized by their bread and circuses and Trump/politics wouldn't have become as huge and popular a topic as it is now. Basically, the ideological subversion of the media redpilled a large group of normies.
>>9908635Fair enough but pirating is a very different experience from the standard AC fair, I would recommend you playing one of these games just for the difference in experience.
Rogue is basically you working for the british navy. I can't think of any pirate/naval game, let alone one that incorporates ship combat and boarding, most of the pirate games that were made in response to Black Flag just copied the sailing and are too cartoony and unserious.
