Yes, money was tight and our parents had to make many sacrifices. We didn't spend on anything that wasn't essential, didn't take vacations, didn't waste one cent, but compared to Africa we were in heaven.
Today our GDP per capita PPP is $30,000 but things are not radically different. So stop going by the Jew numbers so much and learn about the real world. Moldova has Africa tier GDP and watch Bald and Bankrupt's videos of how nice it is.
