I cannot think of a single legit reason to get rid of such a thread. I was looking forward to reading all the other answers too.

It's the only escape back to real discussion. So many fake and gay threads on 4chan that it's basically not worth using anymore.
8kun lets you post way bigger images too, and multiple ones in same post, and way faster captcha.
Keep it up mods and people like me will keep posting these warnings to get the word out.
