Polanski also said in his polygraph interrogation that he had taken a tranquilizer before the interrogation. The CIA teaches to take a tranquilizer before any interrogation, and also something about sphincter exercises also help throw off the polygraph.
So did Polanski pay Manson or Tex Watson to kill Tate? It's entirely possible but not necessarily the case. But note that the murder echoes Polanski's movie at the same time, Rosemary's Baby.
Could be that Tex Watson was hired by Polanski or a friend of Polanski to kill Sharon, but I don't think that's what happened. But I think somebody hired Tex Watson, without Manson really knowing, perhaps. And then a top CIA big shot and Charles Manson BOTH were at the murder scene in the hours after the murders, probably together.
