even if we kill every last human, some of the other lifeforms on earth might evolve and become sentient, and then we have the same problem.
but even if we somehow sterilized the whole planet by launching it into the sun, there still might be other planets in the universe where life could develop
so the only solution seems to be to sterile every single planet in the entire universe, and to do that we'd need self replicating genocide bots, but they to could evolve to develop sentience.
so in short we are fucked
