last I read it's something about matter being constantly created and destroyed. so there's nothing, but there's also something, so that radio waves can somehow propagate through it. there is, of course, no experimental or theoretical proof of any of this, except that the previous definition of space being a complete vacuum has been proven to be impossible as radio waves cannot propagate through absolutely nothing.
