I wasn't planning on having crouching but I might have it just for that. I likely won't since I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible, but down the line if there's room for it and you're not using it in your game I may steal that.
Since there's a bit of disagreement here over whether 2D sidescrolling is really the way to do this, I'd love to see you go forward with your idea. With two games like this maybe they'd inspire more. Just to have another game like Naked Order that's a bit more up my alley would be a gift.
>>2337161I originally envisioned a system where you could willingly strip and hide your outfit in one of many hiding places around a level, but the ghost would still take it if you couldn't hide it in time. As this prototype started taking shape I began wondering if that would just be an annoying mechanic and I put it on the back burner. I may add stuff like that, but for now you just get stripped if you're not already naked when the ghost comes by.
Here's a new pic to show it wasn't just a passing fancy and I really am still working on it. There's not much difference I can actually show visually but the cover system is now working with the front side and backside and all that. There's no animations yet though. This sprite is just a stolen placeholder. Anyone who can guess where it came from is my nigga.
