Here is short summary of the islands history.
Nakanotori is the name for a large island in the Pacific between Japan and Hawaii, with the mainland about the size of the Japanese island of Kyushu. It has a smattering of smaller islands around it that brings the regions total land area close to that of Ireland.
Nakanotori was colonized by pretty much every colonial power at some point, often many at once with old political maps of the island being described as border gore. As such the land is covered in old forts with the coast strewn with abandoned ports and shipwrecks. The island was also used as a meeting ground between east and west when Japan started it's efforts to reclaim what they say saw as a core region via heavy immigration. Countless battles and skirmishes between the colonial powers were held on or off shore and pirates prowled the seas
Prior to WW2 Japanese became the largest ethnic group which Japan used as justification for annexing the island early in the war. The island remained occupied until a massive invasion by the United States near the end of the war. The invasion was used as a test bead for invasion for Japan and after witnessing the bloodbath that followed the United States decided to use nukes extensibility in their plans, however this proved unnecessary as Japan surrendered before an invasion could happen.
Nakanotori was eventually granted autonomy after reconstruction becoming a sort of Switzerland of the Pacific. All the world powers want the nation to be their puppet while that Japanese still see Nakanotori as part of Japan. In modern times Nakanotori is a top tourist location, a trade hub for the Pacific, and a major corporate haven.
I'm mostly getting the non smutty details in order right now between working on my other stories. Then I will go back and rework the Magical Girl lore and system.
