To the point where it's impossible to just live a normal life barefooted without some asshole automatically thinking that you must be into foot jobs. Or that you're a hippie. The hippie counter culture sure didn't do any favors to barefoot people, when they appropriated bare feet to their lifestyle. Older people who experienced life before hippie times used to tell me that barefoot was considered to be much more normal before all that.
I also really hate the "smelly feet" meme. Mine don't stink. In fact, the young me cured a fungal infection from my toenails by giving my feet daily snow baths on a winter many years ago. That ended all and any smelliness for my paws. They've never felt better since.
