I'm a bit slow warming up to webm. I guess I liked gifs because they more or less forced person creating the gif to cut out all the excess and provide on a very brief, concise clip which hopefully portrayed all the best parts of a video or scene, whereas webm lets you be lazier, making longer files which ultimately feel more like watching a video without sound, which seems a bit silly.
I figured I'd give it a shot, though, and I have to say, after getting so accustomed to sacrificing colours and frames, I'm pretty impressed that this file ended up being under 3mb. You really can fit a lot in there, and the lack of restraint also means they're a lot less time-consuming to make than gifs.
