Freezing (manga/anime) has blood-sport competitions at each class level to determine the pecking order in that class as well as hone battle reflexes in fighting the enemy. Pandora candidates possess stigma-supported constitutions/durability and tremendous healing rates such that wounds that would be fatal to a normal human are reduced to "medium or lower" level for the Pandora candidate. Satellizer is violent though; in one manga page, she has sunk the small-bladed end of her nova blood volt weapon into the chest of 3rd year student "Liberator of Virtue" and is deliberately twisting the weapon to cause more extreme pain.
