Alice couldn't pass up a possible advantage... besides, a challenge wasn't something she was afraid of. It was probably testing her skill and her willpower, far be it from her to back down!
Just before rounding the next turn, Alice quickly shifted to the path on her right, adjusting her pace to keep up with the turn. Then things became complicated. Before she could react, obstacles began literally sprouting up on the path ahead. First a hurdle that she just barely jumped over, then a swinging rod that she had to duck under... and two twirling staffs on either side that she had to narrowly slip past.
What had once been a running track had suddenly turned into a frantic obstacle course. "W-what the hell...?!" Alice was keeping up with the abrupt hindrances, and had yet to get stopped, but it was definitely slowing her down. Would she even finish in a good time at this rate? What if the obstacles got worse?
While keeping her heavy breathing steady, Alice saw another turn coming up. She'd be halfway done, and could go back to the normal track and finish at a normal pace... or take whatever the course threw at her.
[A] Go back to the normal track and focus on speed.
Don't be afraid of the obstacles, keep at it!
[C] Go all the way to the left and see what that presents.
