there is a new ish 'new player catch up' thing they added now you can get more resources and exp boosts for your roster to level up and fight better etc
there is alot to the game, but you can likely find a recent ish 'what to do' new player guide on you tube
the doa collab will be a separate 'event' or limited time story line / game play levels to go into starting at low level, then all the way up to max level (which you really don't have to do) you can go back to the 'vacation lane' story line later once you're higher level to play through it and any older events in a certain like 'rewind' menu to see the dialog etc
mainly what you want to do is stock up on cubes and gold, these are the two resources you need to roll or 'build' boats gatcha to get the doa girls
doing some daily quests every day gives cubes for free etc, you can also throw some money at the game like what 20ish bucks to get a bunch of build resources, also an option
im booting up the game again more recently now to just do some dailies every day to stock up on more cubes and gold to roll for any new doa boats that might be added (they added tamaki and luna second time around, likely some more this third time)
