IllustriousXL and NoobAI are the most popular base models, but there are many mixes based on those. WAI is still popular but also on CivitAI one of the most popular sets of anime models are the Nova ones, which have a bunch of variations for different looks: https://civitai.com/user/Crody/models

With 4x3090 that's more than enough to do Flux if you wanted to check that out. Unfortunately the only good uncensored Flux model is NovelAI's v4.5 models which haven't been leaked yet, but there was an attempt at an uncensored one called Chroma you could check out if you want.

Also with that much VRAM you could do video gens pretty quickly using WAN if you're interested in that.

It'd be exciting to see what you can do with that much horsepower since you should get really quick gens and be able to go really high resolution with them, hope you'll share what you do with the thread!

ADetailer has two parts: automatically detecting things like faces, hands, etc (depending on what model you use) and then inpainting those things. The inpainting is the exact same thing as doing manual inpainting, it's just doing it automatically for you.

You can do as many manual inpainting passes as you want until you're happy with the outcome. ADetailer is just doing the work for you to make it easier. It's totally up to you how much time and effort you want to invest into a gen, you can probably always make something look better with more work, but at some point it's probably not worth it.

WAI is still a good and popular model based on IllustriousXL. Any model based on NoobAI or IllustriousXL is among the best you'll get for SDXL.Since there are so many different merges available you can go with whichever one you get the best results with, either whichever has the default style you like or works well with whatever artists mix you use. Pic related is a handful of different models I use.
