>>2358545I had that same exact problem and I spent weeks searching for guides. Eventually I learned to not search in english, lmao! Especially regarding MMD content.. most Western MMDers don't know jack shit about making real models even though they think they do (mostly referring to people on Deviantart, not you guys lol). So I began to search in Japanese and found results on Niconico and even some on YouTube. Videos, blogs, etc. That's the key to it, and there's a decent amount. I recommend a browser addon for translating Japanese pages. For vids, you'll simply have to try your best but it can be done. Also even if a vid isnt Blender related, you can most likely still do the same thing as most 3D programs tend to use similar types of tools. I should also mention that I had many years of drawing experience which helped me, one of the first things I did was draw concept art before I began. Another very important thing to do is to look at other models, or even import them into Blender to strip them down and see how they function and try to mimic using similar styles/techniques. It takes time, but you'll begin to see what works and what doesnt work when it comes to shapes. 2D artwork also helps alot if you're basing off a character.
I could come back in a few hours to provide actual links to some of the vids/guides I looked at! In the meantime, I'd try using the following terms on Google in certain combinations...
MMD = MMD
モデル = Modeling/Model
モーフ = Morph
モーション = Motion
ボーン = Bones
ウェイト = Weights
アーマチュア = Armature
講座 = Tutorial/Guide
