I'd have to make up, and keep track of, arbitrary numbers for how much money Green's received from trainers and how much she's spent on items (the actual costs of the items would be easy enough thanks to bulbapedia). And then I'd have to keep track of her inventory as she's using items as well.
Plus I'm sure we've all seen how /e/ can spread out among choices when there's only 3-4 options. I really doubt that a consensus could be built if say Green has 1800 and everyone wants different items in differing amounts.
So all that said I think it's safe to assume that Green will always have as many pokeballs (or great or ultra as they become available) as she needs. And she'll have items when necessary (and if I remember to write them in or even see it necessary to write them in). Just easier that way imo.
