It'd be less jarring to just pull a To-Love Ru and keep any of their potential nudity off-camera a-la Mikan if sexualizing the character genuinely wasn't an option.
That wasn't really what I was talking about, though. De-lolifying ecchi casts (like the aforementioned Mikan) isn't really anything new. It's more that ecchi casts, as a whole, aren't really offering any options under "smaller than the rest of the cast, but by no means flat-chested" anymore. It's like if, say, Nana and Yami had all their nudity censored along with Mikan. I like my DFC, but I'm not too big on straight-up unironic loli (that Tiny Evil thing you mentioned was way too far for me, sorry to say), and I feel like I don't have very many options anymore.
And hey, while I'm talking about Kentaro Yabuki, Ayakashi Triangle had a chapter pulled from international circulation (and may have possibly lost its license entirely) because of its sexual content. Pic unrelated to the thread topic, but relevant to the discussion. Yeah. That's officially too flat to sexualize now. Happy new year.
