>>2047854I don't disagree, though with the TV series, it's mostly just film grain chasing at that point--and not very impressive at that. Episode 20 stands out for a rare appearance by the grade A animation team put into visuals for some added comedy (and Ryna's boobs, surprisingly enough), and there are some better-animated portions around the finale, but otherwise the whole series isn't animated above your general late 1990s less-computer use TV series. It's not an AIC/Pioneer pet project/OVA, where you'd really get the benefit from laserdisc rips or the like I'd say. The version I have is ~270 mb per episode, and probably excessive at that.
I'd never say no to a big budget remake, especially in the OVA's style, but that's pretty unrealistic. Just be glad it's not Legend of Crystania--if you haven't seen it, an OVA spin-off focusing on Pirotess and her search for Ashram. The execution is as botched and tragic as the concept is awesome. Pirotess doesn't even look like a dark elf during most of it (and is a blonde now). God, what a wasted opportunity for two of the best characters. THAT needs a complete do-over more than anything, it wasn't even a competent interpretation like Chronicles was.
