>>2300228The bottle pointed at Erika, dead center. She was the winner. She gave a stare to Lady that sent shivers up the poor girl’s spine; I could basically feel them. I knew that kind of stare; I had it each time I saw the red dot, or when I was decided to pounce into something. That Erika could make such wild eyes being a regular human both captivated me and impressed me. There was a reason I had fallen for her.
“My dare is that I get to tickle whoever the bottle points to next,” Erika announced while still glaring at Lady, who whined involuntarily. So other people did that to. Nice to know I was not the only one.
“I d-d-don’t want to play a-anymore!” Lady squealed, getting up from where she was sitting on the floor.
Jill, who was right besids, grabbed Lady’s leg, making her yelp.
“Princess, I’m so sorry, you can’t leave The Game,” Jill used a kind and apologetic; rather soothing voice. Her hand was still firm. “You already agreed to take part, now you have to see it through.”
“You don’t understand!” Lady cried. “S-she’s a…” Lady looked at Medea and gulped.
“A witch, yeah. We’re all witches,” Jill easily guessed the rest of the sentence. “Coven? Remember? Medea said coven.”
“Well, anyway! Her fingers; s-she cursed me or something, whenever she touches me…” Lady shivered, making a better explanation that words ever could. “I can’t! I really can’t!” she shook her head left to right.
“You haven’t even lost yet, you know?” Carmen tried to ease her. It was the very first time I remembered Carmen speaking affectionately to Lady. “Just take your sit, and instead of risking making Jill or Erika mad and having them do stuff to you, sit and calm down.”
