Sadly, to her ongoing dismay, Mari's friends had never come to grips with it. Thankfully, they didn't lambast her for it or anything... but on more than one occasion, she'd be confronted by yet another earnest attempt to turn her away from such a 'dangerous' pastime.
Mariko loved her friends and valued their opinions, but it was her life, so she was dead set on living it how she wanted. If she wanted to go to school naked, even, then she would!
And so she had. Mariko had been waiting in their club room, having left more than early enough to avoid unwanted notice from other students, or worse, pesky officials.
She had expected surprise, and they certainly delivered. None of her friends said a word, just stared at their naked friend with mouths agape from wordless surprise. Well, except Chi. Nothing fazed her, she just gave the nude girl a passive look and went to her studies.
Rumi was the first to break the silence. Ever excitable, and simply wanting to get into her shameless friend's psyche, she asked countless questions without ceasing.
'What if you're seen?' 'Do you get embarrassed?' 'What do you tell your parents?' 'Are you dating anyone? Do they care?' and on and on and on.
Mariko smiled and sweetly answered each and every question. Then, finally, Chi asked the one that made all eyes turn to her, especially Mariko's.
"So... how are you going to explain yourself during today's field trip?"
Mariko blinked, looking over to her passive friend. "W, what field trip?" She had simply planned on going to class and sneaking back home as soon as time allowed...going somewhere else entirely had never been on her agenda.
Then the sound of an approaching bus got their attention, and Mariko was pulled to her feet by the grinning Rumi. "Well, it'll be fun! You always wanted to travel, right?"
