I like it when authors describe minor inconveniences a girl faces when she doesn't have/can't wear clothes other than the embarrassment.

Although, part of this I think has to do with the fact that if the author is including little 'authentic' details like this in their work, then it follows that they're going to be doing a good job of making the scenario play out in a realistic way.
